Ayurveda - the science of life - learn about your body-type (we're all different!) and how to use this knowledge to stay healthy.

Sthapatya Veda - 'Fortune-creating homes'
Ayurveda - the science of life
Ayurveda is the natural healthcare system that has been used for thousands of years in India (and continues to be used widely today) and is increasing in popularity in many other countries, including the UK. It focuses on the prevention of illness through living in accordance with natural law, on correcting imbalances before they manifest as illnesses, as well as on the treatment of disease.
The talk introduces the fundamental principles of Ayurveda, includes a body-type analysis and recommendations for different body-types, plus a range of simple, practical health tips.
Sukshma Marma Therapy
The talk covers the contents of this website, plus a practical hands-on introduction to Marma treatment. For smaller groups, there will be a Sukshma Marma taster session for each person.
Day courses are also available, covering the material discussed above in more depth, plus specific treatment protocols.
Transcendental Meditation is a simple, natural and effective technique for developing full mental potential, better health and happier relationships with friends and family.
The talk explains the effects and benefits of Transcendental Meditation, how it works, how it differs from other techniques and how it is taught. There is ample time for questions. A course of instruction taking 1.5 hours a day over four consecutive days is available for those who would like to learn the technique.
The word 'yoga' is generally used to refer to physical postures, even though the word has a much more profound meaning - 'unity of small and big Self'. Yoga asanas are simple, enjoyable postures that stretch, enliven and rejuvenate mind and body.
I teach a simple set of yoga asanas to small groups of people who would like to practise them on a regular basis at home without having to go to regular classes.
Sthapatya Veda - Vedic architecture
We are all influenced by the buildings in which we live or work. Depending on the design of the structure, we feel either comfort or discomfort. In correctly designed structures, we experience a subtle sense of well-being and contentment. In improperly designed structures, one feels anxious, stressful and despondent. A well designed structure will produce a sense of bliss and calmness while poorly designed structures will produce the opposite.
The ancient science of Sthapatya Veda provides extensive knowledge about life supporting building and design principles. A Sthapatya Veda designed home will promote harmony between parents and children, better physical health, and more financial success. However a carelessly designed home or building which is out of harmony with the laws of nature will have the opposite effect - promoting family disputes, health problems, and financial difficulties.
Sthapatya is a word from Sanskrit, the language of ancient India, which
means establishment. Veda means knowledge. So, Sthapatya Ved
means the knowledge of establishing a relationship between the
owner, house and/or building and universal natural law.
The talk presents the basic principles of Sthapatya Veda, especially: orientation, room placement, right proportions, as well as site evaluation, auspicious timing and healthy building materials. Examples of Sthapatya Veda buildings are shown and, if the talk takes place in the Garden Studio where I am writing, you will be able to experience a Sthapatya Veda building for yourself! Site visits also available.
